Andrij "Andy" Karasejczuk

Andrij “Andy” Karasejczuk passed away on November 8, 2017 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois at the age of 52.

Andy is survived by his mother Halyna Karasejczuk, brother Rostyslaw (Rosty) Zbotaniw and his children Julian and Vendela and their mother Laura, sister Raisa (Karasejczuk) Martin and husband James and their children James and Lilah. He is preceded in death by his father Ivan “John” Karasejczuk.

Andy was born on August 16, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois to Ivan and Halyna Karasejczuk. He graduated with highest honors from DePaul University in Chicago with a degree in Finance. Andy “K-Jack” served in the United States Army as an Army Ranger in the 3-75th Ranger Regiment. He served in combat in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993.

Andy played an integral role in the Chicago Ukrainian community. He was part of the Hromovytsia Dance Ensemble, the American Ukrainian Youth Association, the choir of the American Ukrainian Youth Association, the St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church Choir as a singer and conductor, and the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church Choir as both a singer and conductor.
