Dorothy E. Britten of Bloomingdale, IL passed away on August 27, 2026. She was born in Chicago, IL to Gus and Elvera (Helgren) Patten. 

She is survived by her children; Diane O'Connor (Bob Johnson), Jackie Reed (the late Roger Reed), Kathy (Ron) Salvo; daughter in law, Carrol Britten; grandchildren, Angela (Tom) Maycock, Anthony (Lindsay) Reed, Jessica (Mike) Fazzio, Stacy (Brendan) O'Brien, Hayley (Guiseppe) Squeo; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter, Clara. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Britten; sons, Bob Britten and Daniel Britten. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St, Addison, IL 60101 (2 Mi. W. of Rt. 83, 2 mi. E. of Rt. 53), from 10:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. Prayer service to follow. Interment will be private.
