Edward R. Scheu

With deep sadness and profound respect, we announce the passing of Edward R. Scheu on September 16, 2026. He passed away surrounded by the family he so loved throughout his extraordinary life.

A man of unwavering integrity, he dedicated his lifetime to the service of his country and community. He proudly wore the uniform of the United States Marine Corps, carrying the values of Semper Fidelis—Always Faithful—into every chapter of his life.

Following his military service, he answered the call to federal law enforcement, serving with distinction for 25 years as a United States Marshal. His lifelong expertise in safety and leadership later brought him to the world of professional sports, where he spent a decade as the Director of Security with the NFL for the Chicago Bears, ensuring the safety of the team, staff, and generations of fans at Soldier Field.

While his professional achievements were vast, his greatest pride and joy was always his family. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ursula and his four children. Jennifer (Craig) Hallman, Edward (Christy) Scheu, Valerie (Long) Le and Kristina (Matthew) Dworakowski. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
