Helmut Rackl, 83, of Naperville, formerly of Addison, passed away on May 30. Beloved husband of 60 years to Judy, (nee Kerwer) Rackl. Devoted father to Lori (Chris Fusco) Rackl, Heidi (Digger) Marston, and Steve(Betty) Rackl. Best Opa to Sara, Chase, and Jane Marston; Jackson and Juliet Rackl; and Ben Fusco.

"Helm" was born on August 1, 1942, in Vienna, Austria, and came to the United States at age 6. He graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago and worked as a highly skilled tool-and-die maker, eventually owning his own shop in Addison. A member of the Oak Park Sportsmen's Club, he was an avid pistol shooter who competed in the prestigious Bianchi Cup.

A Celebration of Helmut's Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Luncheon immediately following at Empress Banquets, 200 E. Lake St., Addison.
