Irene Tuchscherer

Irene E. Tuchscherer, née Svoboda, 89 of Addison. Beloved wife of Don. Loving mother of Patricia Ann and Cheryl (Anthony) Kramer. Dearest sister of the late Bernadine (the late Marvin) Hoins. Fond aunt of Barbara (Jerry) Lehane, Michael (Karen) Hoins, Brian (Laura) Hoins and Patrick (Christie) Hoins.

Irene loved to be with her family, especially when at a Cubs game, a play, a concert or something as simple as a dinner at home with her husband and kids. In her youth, she really enjoyed dancing and imbibing on an ice cold gin martini at Gibby's or the Tip Top Tap in downtown Chicago after her and Don got off work. Later in life, it was a dry red wine that made her smile.

One of our fondest memories was seeing Elvis Presley as a family at the old Chicago Stadium in October 1976. We were only a few rows from the stage - she was in heaven then as we know she is now.

Chapel prayers Friday, 10:45 AM from Humes Funeral Home to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Addison for Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital greatly appreciated.
