John Richard Garrett, 81 of Addison. Beloved husband of Laura nee Simola. Loving father of Denise (Jeffrey) Rogalske, Diana Garrett, Paul Garrett and the late Darlene and Deborah Ann Garrett. Cherished grandfather of Natasha (Denny) Gleeson, Jeremy (Adrienne) Garrett, Christina (Geoff) Mraz, Amanda (Andres) Nunez, Jill Garrett, Lucas Garrett, Paige (Josh) Burton, Brooke Garrett and Brad Garrett. Great-grandfather of Darla Gleeson. Fond brother of Donald “Jack” Garrett, and Naoma “Sis” (the late Ronald) Beyer. Dearest cousin of Nancy (the late Ray) and John (Kathy) Patelski. Fond uncle of Jean and Sandy Beyer.  John was a Certified Automotive Technician and proud member of Mechanics Union Local #701.

Visitation Tuesday, September 5, from 3-8 PM at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W Lake St., Addison (2 Mi. W. of Rt. 83, 2 Mi. E. of Rt. 53). Chapel prayers Wednesday, September 6, 9:15 AM from Humes Funeral Home to St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 1233 W. Holtz, Addison for Mass at 10 AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in River Grove.
