Kenneth Charles Christensen

Kenneth Charles Christensen, 79 of Addison.  Beloved husband of Joyce nee Laux.  Loving father of Katherine (Thomas) Edmier, Charles Christensen, James (Jennifer) Christensen and Laura (Jonathan) Mansheim.  Cherished grandfather of Andrew, Katie, Vanessa, Lizzie, Heidi, Natalie, Matthew, Marissa and Mary.  Dear brother of Carol (John) Crowe and the late Richard Christensen.  Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

After serving in the Navy for 6 years, Kenny met Joyce, moved from New York City to Addison and joined the Addison Fire Department, retiring as Lieutenant after 32 years of service. Even after his retirement he still enjoyed going to the fire station to be amongst the guys.  He had a passion for selling Amsoil and loved tinkering with all things one can fix or make better around the house, talents he was happy to share with those around him, especially with his children & grandchildren. Throughout their 56 years of marriage, Kenny & Joyce had the pleasure of traveling all around the U.S. and beyond, visiting family & friends and just enjoying the scenery and adventure.  His final journey on this earth is complete and we have great peace knowing he is with the good Lord in Heaven.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the following charities which are especially important to Kenny and his family: JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) www.jdrf.org and/or NESDRA (Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association) www.nedsra.org
