Kevin Colby Sterns, Sr.

Kevin was born on January 28, 1964, to Allan and Pat Stearns, he attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Driscoll Catholic High School and Addison Trail High School, all in Addison.

Kevin is survived by his loving children, Erin Stearns, Samantha Hernadez, Brandy Stearns, and their mother, Sally Dietz.  Nine grandchildren Janessa, Rylie, Hailey, Richard, Delilah, Itzabella, Emilian, Skylar, Zachary.  Kevin's mother, Pat Stearns and his five siblings Allan, Dan, MaryBeth, Kathleen and Eileen.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Colby Stearns, Jr., his father, Allan M. Stearns and his grandparents, Martin and Marie Stearns and Art and Kay Colby.

Kevin’s interests included, first and foremost, his family.  He also loved to work around his home and his yard, have friends and family visit and cook for all.  He enjoyed his friends.  He had lifelong friends from grade school, the neighborhood he grew up in and the neighborhood he settled into later in life.  Kevin was a “tinkerer” and had lots of tools. He could think up things to build with scraps and he could fix almost anything.  He was eager to help others with projects and lend a hand in any way he could.  He enjoyed his motorcycle and his weekend rides with his friends.  Lastly, Kevin loved all dogs and especially his beautiful golden retrievers, Buddy and Bailey.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church,  254 N. Wood Dale Road in Wood Dale, IL on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.  There will also be a Celebration of Life and Open House at Kevin's home at 4:00 p.m.
