Lon J. Janis

We are heartbroken to announce the death of Lon Joseph Janis.  He passed away unexpectedly July 6, 2022. He was born April 17, 1970 to the late Betty Ferguson and the late Joseph Janis. Lon was also stepson to the late Bud Ferguson.

Lon started playing the drums as a small child and was an exceptional musician. He played with countless bands through the years where he made many irreplaceable lifelong friends. He also played a variety of other instruments prolifically and even dabbled in singing. Lon worked at Terrace Supply as a fill plant associate and dry ice manager and was considered a vital part of the company. He was cherished by the many friends he made during his 31-year career there and was affectionately referred to as “Captain Carbonic”.

Lon was the beloved father of Skye and Kaitlyn (Max), children of Tammie; Kylie (Taylor) and Torrey, children of Laura; dear brother of Cindy, Tony, Gigi, and Lisa; loving uncle of Karrie, Ricky Jr., Sarah (Isidro), Shayna, Adam, Kimberly, Timothy, Lea, Chrissy, Matthew, Thomas, Arthur III; devoted great uncle to Camille, Freddy Jr., Emily, Anthony, Elizabeth, and Ethan. Lon also left behind countless other cherished family members and friends.

A celebration of Lon’s life will take place on July 22nd, as well as a special gathering for the dedication of his ashes.
