Mary Ignoffo née Gambino, of Addison, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2026, at the age of 91.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Dominick J. Ignoffo Sr. for 67 years; Cherished daughter of the late Carlo and Victoria Gambino; Loving mother of Victoria (Ron) LaMontagna, Joseph (Cindy) Ignoffo, Dominick J. Ignoffo Jr. (Lori), Carlo Ignoffo (Susan) and Lisa (Keith) Jordan; Dearest grandmother of Ronnie (Mary) LaMontagna, Anthony (Nikki) LaMontagna, Christi (Rich) Macias and Danny (Heather) LaMontagna, Joey (Margie) Ignoffo, Jimmy (Danielle) Ignoffo, Alina (Ben) Murphy, Michael Ignoffo, Alicia Ignoffo, Gabriel Jordan and Tristen Jordan; Great-grandmother of Jacob, Alexa, Kayla, Alivia, Austin, Briana, Ryan, Ava, Elena, Rosemary, Nile, Clark, Joey, Jamie Lynn, Arthur, Alora Mae, Maddie and Jack; Fond sister of the late Sam Gambino; Dear aunt of Michael Gambino, aunt-in-law of JoAnn, Johnny and Diane
Amongst being a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary was a devoted and talented songwriter, storyteller, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ
Mary loved God first, then her family, music, sharing her faith, and serving others. Throughout her life, she was known for her unwavering faith, generous spirit, and servant's heart. She found great joy in encouraging others through prayer, music, writing, and simple acts of kindness.
Mary was a gifted singer and songwriter who used her talents to glorify God and share His love with others. She was also a devoted writer whose stories reflected the faith that guided her life. Her writings, songs, and testimony continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
Family was one of Mary's greatest treasures. She loved gathering loved ones around the table, baking bread, preparing Italian meals, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Her home was a place of warmth, hospitality, laughter, and love.
Mary also dedicated countless hours to serving others through ministry and outreach, including sharing the Gospel with those in need of hope and encouragement. She believed deeply in God's grace, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Even in her final days, Mary's faith remained steadfast. She found comfort in God's promises and looked forward with confidence to the day she would see her Savior face to face. Mary's legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her faith and love.
One of the stories closest to her heart was The Good Shepherd Man and the Prodigal Lamb. Through Andy's journey, she shared the message she believed most deeply: that no matter how far we wander, the Good Shepherd's love will always find us.
Mary was welcomed home with the words she longed to hear:
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the assurance that she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord, whom she faithfully loved and served throughout her life.
