Nick (Mykola) Taran, age 91, died peacefully in his sleep, on August 30, 2021. He was born on March 15, 1930 in Ukraine. He is predeceased by his parents Mykola & Anna Taran, his wife of 62 years Pat Taran and daughters Catarina Taran & Vera (Taran) Parkhill. He is survived by his son-in-law Gary Parkhill; grandchildren Katrina (Robert) Barker & Gregory (Maggie) Parkhill; great-grandchildren Landon, McKenzie & Madison; sisters Alexandra (Victor) Bratkiv, Eugenia (Alex) Tyschenko & Valentina (Nicholas) Mischenko. Visitation will be held at Humes Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm with a Panachyda at 6:00pm. Funeral Services will begin at 10am on Wednesday, September 8th at St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 300 East Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 2905 Thatcher Ave, River Grove.
