Richard M. Holtz

Richard M. Holtz was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington, IL. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Grade school in Bloomington and greatly loved St. Mary's School and the Franciscan Sisters and Friars.He was a pitcher in his Legion Baseball days.A graduate of University High School in Normal, IL and he also attended Triton College.Richard served as a radio operator and technician in the Signal Corps and Army Air Corps in Korea during the Korean War.Later he worked as a radio technician with Hurst Radio in Bloomington, IL, followed by Zenith Radio in Chicago as a circuit analyzer.Richard also worked for Motorola Radio Chicago in the Electronics Laboratory and with GTE Automatic Electrical and testing.He was instrumental in the development of and accuracy of the milliohms meter. Loving husband of Efrena. Cherished brother of John J. (Mary Jean) Holtz, Raymond J. (late Lois V.) Holtz, Irene E. (Bill) Rielly, Patricia (Jim) Bookout, the late Ralph (late Marietta) Holtz, the late Paul (late Marcella) Holtz, the late Dorothy (late Raymond) Cole, and the late Agnes (late Robert) Schnupp.Funeral Service Wednesday, July 29, 2015, 10:15 AM from Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison (2 Mi. W. of Rt. 53 2 Mi. E. of Rt. 83) to St. Philip the Apostle Church for Mass at 11AM. Visitation Tuesday, July 28, 2015, 5-8 PM. Interment private.
