Richard J. Krauss Jr.

Richard Joe Krauss, Jr., 73, of Addison, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, surrounded by his wife and daughter.

Richard was a devoted husband to Rebecca, a proud father to Sara Rose and son-in-law Jeffrey Kuhnle, and the loving grandfather of his greatest joy, Jameson Jeffrey “JJ”. Family was at the heart of everything he did, and his happiest moments were spent at home or surrounded by those he loved.

A true patriot, Richard served his country honorably as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He carried his pride for America throughout his life, celebrating the Fourth of July with unmatched enthusiasm and fireworks that lit up both the sky and the hearts of his family and friends.

Richard was known for his nostalgic spirit and his passion for collecting coins and baseball cards. He was a lifelong fan of Chicago sports, cheering faithfully for the White Sox, Blackhawks, and Bears. Whether enjoying a trip to the casino, playing cards, or spending evenings at home, Richard’s humor, loyalty, and warmth made every gathering memorable.

A Celebration of Life will take place at one of Richard’s favorite places for the last 20 years, Pyramid Club in Addison, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, starting at 4:00 p.m. There will be a service with military honors at 6 PM.
