Rudy Ahrweiler

May 3, 1930 — April 29, 2025

Addison

On April 29, 2025, Rudy Ahrweiler went to heaven to be with his Lord and loving wife, Joanne, of 69 years. Our family and the world lost a kind and loving soul. Rudy was the loving father of Becky (Guy) Hoffrage, Sharon (Greg) Voss, Steve (Shelley) Ahrweiler, Sandy (Lee) Reichel, Barb, (Clark) Brunelle, and Karen (Todd) Sharp. He was a cherished grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 16. Private funeral services will be held at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church ️in Addison.

Rudy served in the USA Air Force from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. Later he went to school to become a mold maker. He worked for Chicago Mold Engineering Company for 38 years until he retired. Rudy served as a commissioner of the Addison Park District for years. He also was a member and frequent volunteer at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church.

One of his greatest joys was spending time at the Hooper-Doo family cabin. He loved fishing and swimming with Joanne, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sunrises and sunsets at the lake were especially dear to him.

Rudy’s absence will forever leave a void in our hearts and lives, but the memories we have of him will remind us daily of the incredible man we had the honor of calling dad and grandpa.

If desired, memorials can be made to Gilmore Lake, which was near and dear to Rudy's heart:
