Susan Roe-Pearson

Susan Roe-Pearson of Pensacola, Florida, age 63, passed away on December 22, 2023. She is survived by husband Stephen Pearson, daughter Caitlin (Justin) Littrell, son Sean (Saori), grandchildren Finley and Claire Littrell, late father Daniel Roe, late mother Jane (Keenan) Roe, brother Dan Roe, brother Jim Roe (Sherree), late brother Alec Roe (Judith), brother Greg Roe (Victoria), brother Tim Roe, sister Mary Roe, brother Michael Roe (Janine), sister Patrice Roe (William Zeller).  Nephews Conor Roe, Dan Roe, Joshua Roe, Stephen Roe, Benjamin Roe, Matthew Roe, nieces Emily (Borges) and Caroline Roe.

Susan was the sixth child of nine and much anticipated firstborn girl to Dan and Jane Roe. She lived in Oak Park, IL for the first 14 years, where she formed a strong Catholic faith, friendships that lasted her lifetime and her bond of family togetherness and values mixed with Irish shenanigans. The sense of humor that comes from being in a large family is learned early.

She was an avid reader and carried that passion throughout her life. She stepped into the role of family matriarch of our generation early due to the passing of many beloved family members, including her mother, Jane. It was natural for her and appreciated by all. Comforting to know she was always there.

Susan was a wonderful loving and fun mother and grandmother. Much of the joy and sense of accomplishment in her life came from loving and mentoring her “good people” as she was so proud of them. The family, Steve, Sue, Caitlin and Sean lived in Italy, Spain and several areas of the U.S. during Steve’s time serving in the Navy. She was elated to see both children, Caitlin and Sean, get married and be successful, kind adults. Her grandchildren brought her as much joy as she brought them. She got to spend a lot of cherished time with Finley and Claire.

She had a passion for gardening, travel, family time and learning. Always making notes and journaling about what to do and where to go.  She had worked as a teacher at Ensley Elementary School and volunteered and donated for countless organizations.  Susan had many pets that brought extra love, laughter and joy to her. Otis, Bill, Angus, Stella and Flame are with her in heaven. Nasa has a new loving home.

Our hearts are broken to lose her, but someday will be together again.  Susan Roe Pearson, Love You, Miss You.
