William "Bill" M. Dobbs passed away on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at the age of 56. Bill, son of Sumner and Lorraine (Stone) Dobbs was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Addison, Illinois. Bill was united in marriage to Diane Powers in 1985. He received his master's degree in Special Education from National Louis University. He started his teaching career at Bartlett Learning Center in Wheaton, Illinois. Due to his love of the Baraboo area he continued his teaching career working in the Portage and Baraboo School Districts. Bill was a film enthusiast since his childhood. He volunteered at the Al Ringling Theatre in his free time. Besides films, he enjoyed skiing, taking vacations, studying history; especially the Civil War and World War II. One of his passions throughout his life was playing with his dogs and other pets. Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Diane; many cousins; brothers-in-law and their spouses; nephews and niece; his "Animal House" buddies and many other close friends. He is further survived by his beloved English bulldog, Bentley and his blue and gold macaw, Max. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; aunts and uncles. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Humes Funeral Home, 320 West Lake Street, Addison, Ill. Visitation will be held from 9am until the time of service at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois at a later date.
