Gardley-Muhr
May 14, 1969 — Oct 27, 2026
Zoey Gardley-Muhr passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on October 27, 2026, in Addison, Illinois.
Zoey was born on May 14 1969, in Chicago, Illinois, to Angela and James Gardley. She grew up in the Chicagoland area and went on to earn her degree in computer science from DeVry University. She spent most of her professional career as a computer programmer, bringing her skills and dedication to her work.
Zoey met the love of her life, Paul Muhr, in 1989. Their relationship grew into a lifelong partnership, and they were married in 2000. Together, they built a life filled with love and family and welcomed two beautiful daughters, Madison and Caitlin, who were the greatest joys of Zoey’s life. Above all else, she treasured being a mother, and raising her girls was her proudest and most cherished role.
Throughout her life, Zoey had many interests and passions. Even while battling cancer for 17 years, she continued to embrace the things she loved. She was a devoted Chicago Blackhawks fan and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her strength, love for her family, and determination remained an important part of her journey.
Zoey will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 26 years, Paul; her daughters, Madison and Caitlin Muhr; her mother, Angela Gardley; her siblings, Brian (Jill) Gardley, Chris (Jenny) Gardley, Holly Gardley, and Jacqueline (Keith) Cronce; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Sitka.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Gardley.
A celebration of Zoey’s life will be held at a later date.
