Cheryl A. Shannon, 62, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. She was born September 4, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Walter R. and Carol J. (Annis) Musa.

Cheryl graduated from Carl Schurz High School in Chicago. She was employed in the medical billing field.

Cheryl had life-long partner, Robert “Tadd” Shannon. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her father, Walter R. Musa, her brother, Richard Musa, her ex-husband, James Ricky Rachal and her step-son, John Robert Rachal.

Survivors include two children, Shannon Rachal of Henry, Illinois, Joseph (Raven) Rachal of Topeka, three stepsons, James (Anne) Rachal of Douglasville, Georgia, Brady Shannon of Colorado and Casey Shannon of Colorado, eight grandchildren, Liliana, Jonathan, Julianna, Briana, Gavin, Joshua, Jorden and Mia, four great-grandchildren, Delilah, Joshua, Joseph and Jason, her mother, Carol J. Musa, her siblings, Cindy (Roland) Saloga of St. Petersburg, Florida, Dawn (Tom) Musa of Addison, Illinois and several nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

Memorial visitation will held at Humes Funeral Home on Saturday October 1, 2022 1-4 pm with a memorial service at 2:30 pm.
